2 safety forces killed in Sinai blast

EL-ARISH, Egypt (AP) — Egyptian officers stated a roadside bomb has killed two members of the safety forces on Saturday within the restive northern Sinai province.

The explosion hit their armored car in Rafah, a city on the border with the Gaza Strip. Two different safety pressure members had been wounded.

The officers spoke on situation of anonymity as a result of they weren’t licensed to speak to reporters.

No group instantly claimed duty for the assault.

Egypt has for years been battling an insurgency in northern Sinai that is now led by an Islamic State group affiliate.

The preventing intensified in 2013 after the navy overthrew the nation’s elected however divisive Islamist president.
