The director of the brand new Sonic the Hedgehog movie has promised followers he’ll make adjustments to the hedgehog’s design after an internet backlash.

A trailer released on Tuesday revealed that the well-known blue hedgehog had undergone an overhaul, prompting many followers to query why it has been seemingly given human tooth and disproportionate legs.

Responding to the criticism of the design, director Jeff Fowler stated he had listened to suggestions and is able to make adjustments.

He tweeted: “Thanks for the assist. And the criticism. The message is loud and clear… you are not proud of the design & you need adjustments.

“It will occur. Everybody at Paramount & Sega are totally dedicated to creating this character the BEST he could be… #sonicmovie #gottafixfast.”

Sonic’s unique designer, Naoto Ohshima, stated he was involved with the movie revamp.

He tweeted: “I hoped that adults may take pleasure in it. To this point, varied Sonics have appeared.

“I beloved all Sonics. I noticed a trailer of Sonic’s film.

“I used to be anticipating adults to have enjoyable too. I’m frightened.”
