Pakistan Military rescues stranded mountaineers in Ghizer valley

GILGIT: Pakistan Military on Tuesday rescued 4 Italian and two Pakistani climbers stranded after being hit by an avalanche in Ghizer valley of Gilgit-Baltistan, ARY Information reported.   

In line with the small print, a military helicopter airlifted the stranded mountaineers from a mountain on the altitude of 5,000 metres in Ishkoman Valley and shifted them to hospital for medical therapy.

The Pakistan-Italian friendship expedition crew was comprised of 4 Italian, two Pakistani girls climbers and a neighborhood information. The information was killed throughout the snow avalanche and the crew stranded on the mountain on the altitude of 5,000 metres.

Sources mentioned that the crew had began their journey to climb a mountain in Hindukush mountain vary on June 2.

Earlier on January 29, the Pakistan Military had rescued two Spanish mountaineers from Okay-2 base beneath excessive harsh climate circumstances.

Rescued mountaineers, Jon Barredo and Eva Robles had thanked the armed forces of Pakistan for saving their lives.

Pakistan’s second highest peak, Okay-2,  is 28,251 ft excessive. It’s situated within the Karakorum Mountains alongside the border between China and Pakistan which is notorious for prime winds, steep icy slopes and excessive fatality charges for climbers.
