BEIRUT (AP) — Syrian rescuers and activists say 11 civilians, together with two households of 4, have been killed in authorities and Russian airstrikes inside Syria’s final insurgent stronghold.
First responders generally known as White Helmets stated airstrikes in Kfarya village Saturday killed a mom, her child and one other man, leaving 11 injured, together with one among their volunteers.
The rescuers and the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, an opposition battle monitor, stated different airstrikes within the city of Khan Sheikhoun hit a farm, killing two households— 4 kids and 4 mother and father. The Observatory stated Russian plane had been suspected of launching the strike.
Moscow is backing the Syrian authorities in a stalled offensive towards the northwestern Syria insurgent enclave, now in its 11th week.
Russia stated it foiled an assault on its coastal army base Friday.
