PM Khan summons assembly of PTI senators tomorrow

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan has summoned a gathering of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) senators on Tuesday (tomorrow), ARY Information reported on Monday.

The senators will meet PM Khan underneath the supervision of the Chief of the Home within the Senate, Shibli Faraz, at 5:30 pm tomorrow.

Shibli Faraz will give a briefing to PM Khan over the no-confidence movement towards the Senate chairman Sadiq Sanjrani and deputy chairman Saleem Mandviwalla, sources informed ARY Information.

Earlier on July 26, the federal authorities and opposition had continued backdoor contact in view of the no-confidence movement towards Senate chairman and deputy chairman.

Sources revealed {that a} Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) senator Shibli Faraz held a gathering with Senator Hasil Khan Bizenjo, who can be the candidate of the opposition for the place of the Higher Home chairman.

Faraz had tried to conciliate Bizenjo to withdraw the no-trust movement towards Senate chairman Sadiq Sanjrani, whereas, the opposition senator urged Faraz to induce the federal authorities for taking again the movement towards deputy chairman Saleem Mandviwalla.

On July 22, President Dr Arif Alvi had summoned the Senate session on August 1 for voting on the no-confidence resolutions towards Chairman Sadiq Sanjrani and Deputy Chairman Saleem Mandviwala.

Based on a notification issued by the Senate Secretariat, the president referred to as the session of the higher home of parliament “for taking over motions for go away to maneuver resolutions for elimination of (the) chairman and (the) deputy chairman Senate, in pursuance of the abstract despatched by the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs”.

The opposition senators had submitted a decision towards Senate Chairman Sadiq Sanjrani to the secretariat of the Higher Home with signatures of 38 opposition members on July 9. The federal government and coalition legislators hit again with the same movement towards the deputy chairman on July 12.
