BEIRUT (AP) — Syria’s state-run media say troops have scored advances on the bottom within the north, seizing a hilltop village and a close-by city from insurgents.

The advances within the northern Hama countryside simply south of Idlib province are the primary in weeks, breaking a stalemate within the authorities forces’ offensive in opposition to the nation’s final insurgent stronghold.

Syria’s Central Navy Media say troops captured the Tal Malah village and the close by city of Jibeen on Monday after fierce confrontations with militants entrenched within the space.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported the advances, saying the troops had been capable of seize the territory after militant teams withdrew, following intense air and floor shelling.
