ANKARA, Turkey (AP) — Turkey’s Protection Ministry says a automotive bomb explosion in a Turkish-controlled space of northeastern Syria has killed two civilians.
In a press release posted on Twitter, the ministry mentioned no less than 10 different individuals have been wounded within the assault within the metropolis of Ras al-Ayn on Thursday.
The assault was the most recent in a string of lethal automotive bomb assaults in northeast Syria since Turkish troops and allied Syrian opposition fighters captured Ras al-Ayn and different areas in October to drive Syrian Kurdish fighters away from its border.
The ministry blamed the assault on Syrian Kurdish fighters.
Turkey considers the Kurdish fighters as terrorists due to their hyperlinks to a Kurdish insurgency inside Turkey.
The fighters had nonetheless, partnered with the U.S. towards the Islamic State group.
