Earlier on November 28, the Financial Coordination Committee (ECC) of the Cupboard had accredited amendments to a number of guidelines governing the regulation of upstream petroleum sector to foster ease of doing enterprise and encourage funding within the sector.

The approval had been granted within the ECC assembly held in Islamabad with Finance Adviser Dr Abdul Hafeez Shaikh within the chair.

The assembly had accredited amendments in eighteen legal guidelines and 25 authorized procedures with the intention to simplify and facilitate investments in oil exploration and manufacturing.
