GUJRANWALA: Usman Sheikh, local leader of the Pakistan-Quaid Muslim League (PML-Q), was shot dead Monday night in Gujranwala, ARY News reported.
According to police, a suspect, Madad Ali, opened fire on the leader of PML-Q due to a monetary dispute and killed him on the spot.
The rescue officials, after being informed, transferred the body to the hospital to carry out the medical-legal procedures. Sources said the incident took place within the boundaries of the Garjakh police station in Gujranwala.
The police have registered a case and initiated investigations into the murder.

On September 5 of last year, a leader of the Pakistan Muslim League Quaid (PML-Q) and former member of the Provincial Assembly (MPA), Parveen Sikandar Gill, had been killed inside his residence.
Police investigators arrived at the crime scene and initiated a thorough investigation of the incident.
According to initial reports, the murdered leader resided at the top of his house, while Gill’s brother lived on the ground floor.
Police officers had expressed suspicions of “personal enmity” that led to the murder of leader PML-Q.
