ISLAMABAD: Preparations are being made to put the finishing touches on the launch of the Ehsaas Kifalat program, which will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Imran Khan on January 31.
The Ehsaas digital payment system is an important competent of the Kifalat program. The acquisition of the system was completed transparently last year.
Dr. Nishtar opened the HBL biometric ATM in Islamabad, which is easily accessible and prominent. This is the first digital payment system that has been introduced to facilitate cash transfers to women beneficiaries of Kifalat in a transparent manner.
The Ehsaas digital payment system is significant progress from the previous BISP payment system in many aspects. The system is not simply a payment system; It includes saving features too.
Most importantly, beneficiaries will now have the option of going to a biometric retail store or a biometrically enabled ATM or any biometrically enabled HBL and AB branch.
“Opening the biometric ATMs and bank branches (of the associated banks HBL and BA) the beneficiaries of Kifalat is an important feature of the new digital payment system of Ehsaas,” said Dr. Sania Nishtar, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister of Social Protection and Poverty Relief.
“Previously, women had no other option. They used to go to retail stores and there were very few in each city. Retail agents generally made deductions from their tranches and often deducted money fraudulently. Under the new system, women will be able to go to biometric ATMs and branches, ”he added.
