LAHORE: Punjab Health Minister Dr. Yasmeen Rashid announced Thursday that health professions will receive interest-free loans of up to Rs 1.5 million, ARY News reported.
Addressing the presentation ceremony of a report from the Punjab Heath Foundation, Dr. Yasmeen said the provincial government has proposed to increase the interest-free loan limit from Rs.7.7 million to 1.5 million for professions of health.
She said that the health professional can create more job opportunities after making use of the interest-free loan facility.
The minister said the state has the responsibility of creating job opportunities, adding that they have provided 300 health professionals with job opportunities by granting them interest-free loans.

Last year, on August 20, the government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) approved the policy of granting interest-free loans to government employees.
According to the details, the loan could be acquired by the government employee for the purchase of a house, car and motorcycle.
Government employees in grades 1 through 17, who have a minimum service period of five years to a maximum of 10 years, will be eligible to apply for the loan.
