Student hospitalized in critical condition after being mutilated by dogs

KHAIRPUR: A teenager was hospitalized in critical condition after being mutilated by stray dogs in the Khairpur district on Wednesday, ARY News reported.

Fida Hussain, 13, was bitten by stray dogs in the city of Kot Diji district.

The victim was taken to Kot Diji Taluka Hospital for medical attention, where she is said to be in critical condition.

However, his family members lamented that the hospital administration denied him a rabies vaccine, forcing them to buy it outside his own pocket.

They alleged that the medical superintendent of the medical facility threatened to send his son when they tried to protest the lack of vaccine supply.

It should be noted that, according to reports, the provincial government has completed a program of more than one billion rupees for the vaccination of stray dogs to control its population.

According to the Sindh local government department, the program is awaiting formal approval from the prime minister.
