PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) police department received the DNA report of the eight-year-old murdered girl, Hooz Noor, who confirmed that the girl had been raped before she was killed, ARY News reported Sunday.
Police authorities said the report confirmed that the culprits had raped the girl.
They added that two defendants have confessed their crime after being arrested by the police.
Earlier on January 20, a seven-year-old girl, who disappeared after leaving her home for madrassa in the Kaka Sahib area a day earlier, had been found dead in the Pir Such area by police officers who claimed to have been raped before being killed.

A police team had recovered the body of the girl from the Pir Such area, who was taken to the hospital for an autopsy. In addition, two men have been arrested and were seen by their relatives after registering a case in the incident.
On January 22, the KP government) had set up a special prosecution team to initiate legal action in the case of rape and murder of Nowshera. The new prosecution team had received the task of helping the police and the lawyers of the victim girl.

The decision was made at a high-level meeting chaired by KP Chief Minister Mahmood Khan to discuss the horrible incident of rape and murder of a minor girl in Nowshera.
CM Mahmood Khan also contacted the Speaker KP Assembly and requested to immediately activate the Special Committee for the Protection of the Child. CM Khan said the committee will send its recommendations for the imposition of strict punishments within a month through a bill. The committee will also present its suggestion to organize a watch list with regard to criminals involved in child abuse cases.
