KARACHI: The Chinese general council on Thursday asked Pakistani businessmen and merchants to take advantage of the benefits of the Free Trade Agreement (FTA) phase II, reported ARY News.
Speaking on the “Meet the Press” program of the Karachi Press Club, the consul general of China said that Pakistani exports to China can increase by $ 6 billion under phase II of the FTA.
He said that the first phase of the billionaire project of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) has been completed successfully and added that work is being done on its second phase in the country.
The envoy said that Pakistan and China have been enjoying extremely friendly and cordial relations and cooperating with each other in many areas of common interest.
He said that China’s position on the issue of Kashmir is clear and consistent. The Kashmir problem must be resolved under the resolutions of the United Nations, the envoy added.

Last year, on December 2, the second phase of the Free Trade Agreement (FTA) between Pakistan and China entered into force, allowing Pakistani manufacturers and merchants to export more than three hundred new products to the Chinese mass market.
The two countries had completed all legal procedures and formalities to begin the implementation of the agreement.
Pakistan and China had signed a protocol for the implementation of the agreement during the last visit of Prime Minister Imran Khan to China.
