LAHORE: Prime Minister Imran Khan asked the delegation of All Pakistan Textiles Mills Association (Optima) to discuss the strike of textile factories.
According to the details, a delegation of textile factory owners under the leadership of Gohar Ejaz will meet with Prime Minister Imran Khan, the sources said, adding that the prime minister had called the Optima delegation to discuss the strike.
The meeting will discuss issues related to the reimposition of electricity bills, said Gohar Ijaz, Leader of the Optima Group, adding that the Prime Minister called the delegation to discuss issues in the textile industry.
He said the Prime Minister had granted concessions on the electricity bills that had been abolished, the energy division restored the surcharges that were abolished a year ago, the energy rate increased from 12 to 20 rupees per unit. The textile industry is affecting, while the industry is associated with 3 million people.
It is understood that the dispute between the owners of the textile factories and the government has intensified on the issue of the export of electricity bills to the textile exporting industry. After sending 12 months of invoices to the owners, unable to pay, Optima decided to close factories across the country, including Punjab.
