Army to help ensure peaceful conduct of election: PM Nasirul Mulk

ISLAMABAD: Caretaker Prime Minister retired Justice Nasirul Mulk on Wednesday expressed the hope that the help of military throughout basic elections will complement efforts to make sure the sleek and peaceable conduct of the electoral train.

Chairing a gathering of defense ministry in Islamabad, he appreciated vital position of the ministry in direction of protection of the nation.

Secretary Protection Zamir-ul-Hassan Shah on the event gave an in depth briefing on working of the ministry. He additionally briefed the premier about deployment of the military personnel throughout the polls.

Currently, Chief of Military Employees General Qamar Jawed Bajwa directed the army to carry out election duties  with utmost duty and with out dropping any deal with defence and inside safety challenges at hand.

An announcement issued by ISPR following the 211th Corps Commanders’ Convention held on June 27 resolved, “mandated help to ECP shall be offered without cost, honest & clear conduct of GE-18.”

The Election Fee of Pakistan (ECP) has finalized foolproof safety preparations and determined to conduct July 25 elections within the supervision of military.

The safety of printing press, printing of poll papers and their supply to respective polling stations shall be carried out underneath military’s supervision.
