Asad Umar takes oath as Federal Minister for Planning, Particular Initiatives

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Asad Umar on Tuesday took oath as Federal Minister for Planning and Particular Initiative, on the President Home, ARY Information reported.

Umar was administered oath by President of Pakistan Arif Alvi. Makhdoom Khusro Bakhtyar who was earlier holding this portfolio has been appointed because the Petroleum Minister.

On Monday, Particular Assistant to Prime Minister on Data and Broadcasting Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan had introduced about enlargement within the federal cupboard.

Prime Minister Imran Khan in September hinted to provide new duties to former finance minister Asad Umar within the federal cupboard.

The PTI MNA from Islamabad stepped down because the nation’s finance minister, on April 18, after PM Imran requested him to take the portfolio of petroleum, which he declined and opted to give up the federal cupboard.
