Israel extradites the woman wanted for sex crimes to Australia | Instant News

JERUSALEM (AP) – Israel has extradited a woman wanted on 74 counts of child sexual abuse in Australia. Lawyer Malka Leifer said he boarded the plane at Ben Gurion Airport on Monday morning. The former teacher has been accused of sexually abusing several former students at a Jewish school in Melbourne. A six-year legal battle over Leifer’s extradition to Australia has strained relations between the two governments. Israel’s Supreme Court last month rejected his final appeal and the justice minister signed an extradition order.
