Brazilian physio Fabio Mahseredjian claims that Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson will not be fit for another week ahead of their match against Sheffield United today.
There were rumors that Alisson had an outside chance of playing against the Blades with his replacement, Adrian, coming in for the baton recently.
Adrian was criticized for his performance against Aston Villa earlier this month, playing a stray cross in the fourth minute to allow striker Ollie Watkins to give the underdogs the lead. in a 7-2 defeat.
Past Jurgen Klopp’s biggest defeat as manager and leaving fans desperate for the return of Brazil’s number one.
And now Mahseredjian has revealed that Alisson is close to returning to full fitness but that won’t be until the end of this month.
“Alisson injured his shoulder on 30 September, a trauma. An athlete from his own team fell on his shoulder, ”explained Mahseredjian.
“And on 15 October he came back for a training session. Dr. Rodrigo Lasmar [Brazil Chief Medical Officer], in contact with Liverpool’s medical department, informed us saying that Alisson might be available for Klopp, for Liverpool technical staff, on 31 October.
“He will have three games before joining the Brazilian team.”
On whether Alisson, Thiago Alcantara or Joel Matip will be involved against Chris Wilder’s men, Klopp said at a press conference yesterday: “I don’t know. We have training after the press conference, so we’ll see who’s out there. You can only compete if you are practicing.
“Look, in my situation I don’t want to get rid of anyone until someone tells me and so far, no one has told me. Maybe I should have listened better! But for me, everyone other than the three I mentioned was at odds until someone told me differently. “
