April 7 (Renewable Now) – Brazil’s Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuel (ANP) Agency announced on Monday that it is delaying the second phase of the 72nd biodiesel auction.
The agency stated that the action was the result of the economic impact of an international public health emergency caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
According to ANP, the government will re-evaluate tenders for possible adjustments. Accordingly, notifications with the current auction schedule, published on March 12, are suspended, and a new schedule will be released soon.
Most recently, the Brazilian Ministry of Mines and Energy rescheduled without time limit energy and transmission auctions, which were previously planned for the following months. In total, six events were postponed, including a new A-4 energy auction, which registered 51,438 MW of hydro, wind, solar and biomass energy projects.
