Pakistan Red Crescent will launch an awareness campaign on the coronavirus

ISLAMABAD: The president of the Pakistan Red Crescent Society, Abrarul Haq, said Wednesday that an awareness campaign on the coronavirus will be launched, ARY News reported.

“The Pakistan Red Crescent will launch an awareness campaign in collaboration with the Department of Health,” he said in his statement issued here today.

Haq said thousands of volunteers will participate in the awareness campaign and that Rapid Response Centers are being established at the provincial headquarters.

He said Islamabad is in contact with the Chinese government to deliver the use of chemicals to control the coronavirus.

Hundreds of Americans and Japanese escaped from the Chinese city in quarantine at the center of a coronavirus epidemic aboard charter flights on Wednesday, as the death toll shot up to 132 and confirmed infections approached 6,000.

Yesterday, Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi said that not a single Pakistani in China has been infected with coronavirus.

In a statement issued from Islamabad, Shah Mehmood Qureshi had said that we are in constant contact with our embassy in Beijing to get the latest details, Radio Pakistan reported.

He had asked the Pakistani community in China not to worry since all precautionary measures are being taken.
