Illegal factory selling low quality oil sealed in Karachi, four arrested

KARACHI: Police sealed an illegal oil factory on Friday that prepares low-quality material to be sold in the market under the name of famous brands, ARY NEWS reported.

According to the Superior Superintendent of Police (SSP) of the East, a police group conducted a raid in the area of ​​the Manzoor neighborhood of the city, confiscating an oil factory that works illegally in a residential home. He said four people on the site were also caught during the raid.

People on the site were involved in the sale of low-quality oil in the market, the police officer said and added that they seized a large amount of oil and other materials used in its manufacture.

He also said that the labels of the famous oil brands, seals and mixing machines were also taken in possession of the raid site.

In December 2019, the authorities of the Sindh Environment and Protection Authority (SEPA) sealed a factory that extracted oil from animal waste and organs in the city.

According to a spokesman for the province’s environment department, the SEPA team led by its director Ashique Ali Langa raided a factory that extracted edible oil from animal waste.

“The team recovered edible oil and other things used to extract oil,” the spokesman said and added that it was supplied from the site to different parts of the city.
