Google announced grants for local news rooms around the world | Instant News

NEW DELHI: Google announced Wednesday a new Journalism Emergency Aid Fund, which will be used to provide assistance to small and medium news publishers around the world, including India. The company, however, did not say how much money would be offered through these funds.

“This funding is open to news organizations that produce original news for the local community during this crisis period, and will range from low dollars for small hyper-local news rooms to low tens of thousands for larger news rooms, with variations per region,” Richard Gringas writes, vice president, News, on Google, in a blog post.

Applications for funds will be closed on April 29 and the company will announce the issuer that will receive funds after that. The company also donated $ 1 million to the International Center for Journalists (ICFJ) through its charity,

Only editorial rooms that have been operating for at least 12 months are eligible for the fund. The fund is “targeted at” the newsroom which employs between two and 100 permanent employee journalists (FTE). “Local publishers who employ more than 100 FTE journalists can still apply and will be considered subject to Google’s discretion, especially based on differences in needs in different countries / regions,” the company said in its eligibility criteria. Lifestyle, sports and B2B publications will not be considered, and Google only wants publications with “core news provision”.

Covid-19 locking has encouraged news consumption, but also slowed revenue for publishers. As a result, many news agencies have to downsize with their staff. According to reports, more than a thousand journalists from print, television and digital media, even in India, have been given pink slips due to the slowdown. In the past week, many small media organizations in India have stopped publishing or broadcasting broadcasts because income has dried up.

Surface Book Leakage 3 shows the conversion of power plants | Instant News

Against all odds, it seems that Microsoft will still try to push through some of its new products. At least those who won’t rely on shiny Windows 10X. Surface lineup is due to refreshment, especially in some areas such as Surface Dock and Surface Book. It seems that this is true if the leak is believed and it seems that Microsoft will not take a hit in turning the Surface Book 3 into the most powerful portable workstation.

Surface Books have always been a rather distinctive device even among the detachable 2-in-1 that is already common on the market. The keyboard isn’t just a cover and actually has a separate graphics card and battery that turns a two-in-one computer into something that can barely stand up to a gaming laptop. This year, maybe it is.

Core Specifications discovered by WinFuture already painted an interesting picture. You have a 10th generation Intel processor, either Core i5-10210U or Core i7-10510U and up to 32 GB RAM, double the maximum allowed for Surface Book 2. Maximum 1 TB NVMe SSD might be a little disappointing but storage is easier to make up for than CPU or RAM.

The most interesting tidbit is the choice of graphics card, here believed to be the Quadro RTX rather than the usual GeForce. It lists Surface Book 3 as a tool for creating multimedia content as well as for games when traveling.

Of course, all that power has a price, and it’s not just the thermal costs we’re talking about. The lowest Surface Book 3 is priced at 1,023 EUR, around $ 1,123, while the top of the line configuration will return you to 4,323 EUR, $ 4,745. There is no word on when it will be announced but it can arrive together with the new Surface Go 2 and Surface Dock 2.

Razer Pikachu-themed earbuds are perfect for Pokemon fans | Instant News

New earbuds have appeared in Mandarin Razer the site, showing a pair of sweet little Pikachu-themed earbuds packed in a Pokéball charging ball.

The shoots seem to only come with three hours of battery life, but Razer has managed to eliminate this problem by creating the most adorable charger in the world: the Pokéball that lights up with the accompanying wrist strap.

Related: The best wireless earbuds

So, while those three hours seem very little, you have a valid reason for issuing Pokéball in public and impressive embarrassing friends / children / other important people.

At present, the new wireless headphones are actually only sold in China, so you might have to wait a while if you want to replace your AirPods.

The shoot has been confirmed to have an IPX4 waterproof rating, which means that you should be able to use it in a light drizzle (but don’t swim out to catch water types with these people).

In addition, it is likely they will have specifications similar to Razer’s true wireless offering today, Hammerhead. While we haven’t tested this in the office, many users have found that £ 99 buds are what you would expect for that price. There is no noise-cancellation on the shoots and they come with applications and control functions that are pretty basic.

Razer Pikachu-bud is estimated to cost a little more than Hammerhead around $ 120, but for that additional you get Pikachu stamped at the end of each shoot and all the important filling cases.

And instead of the standard set of commands that bore in your ears, Pikachu’s little chirps will give you a gentle boost instead, to remind you to charge and pair headphones as needed.

So far there has been no confirmation that the bud will land on the West coast, but in China the bud will go on sale April 16.

Camera settings are another big point of difference between them with the Honor 30 Pro + getting a 50-megapixel 50-megapixel IMX700 sensor, while the Honor 30 Pro gets a 40-megapixel IMX600 main sensor. In addition, the Honor 30 Pro and 30 Pro + share a 16 megapixel ultrawide angle camera and 50x zoom telephoto camera with OIS.

The replacement of the Nokia Eight Sirocco Android 10 starts launching | Instant News

The Nokia Eight Sirocco was one of the first units introduced by HMD World under the Android One banner. The company had begun promoting Nokia branded smartphones the previous year, but the software program then had nothing to do with Google’s program.

Following the poor work done by the company with the superior Nokia 8, all eyes are on the Nokia Eight Sirocco to increase the pursuit for the highest dollar market. But to be honest, the machine turned out to be unsatisfactory for the most part.

The reality problem, perhaps the most important part of the phone – software program updates or Android One for that matter – is what has long dragged the engine. This explains why the replacement of the Nokia Eight Sirocco Android 10 has just arrived now, weeks after the OS was launched to its low-entry counterparts.

At this rate, though, it doesn’t matter as long as the Nokia Eight Sirocco Android 10 that comes in replaces doesn’t find yourself like the Xiaomi Mi A3 train replaces Android 10.

Juho Sarvikas already did it confirmed on Twitter which is definitely the OS out there to get. The OTA package deal weighs 1.38GB and increases the quantity of the software program model to V5.120, marked along with the latest April 2020 security patch.

Just like the latest Android 10 update for Nokia 4.2 and Nokia 3.2, anticipate Nokia Eight Sirocco to get Android 10 replaced in batches. Which means some items must be present a few days earlier than actually receiving the notification.

According to Nokia, replacements will reach 10% of items today in Armenia, Australia, Austria, Azerbaijan, Bahrain, Belarus, Belgium, Denmark, Egypt, Finland, Georgia, Germany, Hong Kong, Iceland, India, Iraq, Iran, Jordan , Kazakhstan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Luxembourg, Macau, Mongolia, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Oman, Qatar, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Sweden, Switzerland, United Arab Emirates and Ukraine.

After April 18, 50% of all items may have acquired a new OS and 100% on April 20.
