Clashes erupt in occupied Kashmir amid complete poll boycott

SRINAGAR: Amid full boycott of the fourth part of so-called Indian parliamentary elections, clashes erupted on Monday in occupied South Kashmir’s Kulgam district.  

In keeping with Kashmir Media Service (KMS), the Kashmiri youth and Indian forces clashed in Kulgam district the place polling is scheduled for Islamabad Lok Sabha constituency.

A number of youth have been injured when Indian forces fired pellets and teargas shells on the individuals protesting towards the election being held in Kulgam. Individuals, principally youth, hit the streets in Qaimoh, Bugam and Kujjar areas of Kulgam and elevating anti-India slogans marched in direction of polling stations.

The troops deployed in energy fired pellets and teargas shells and baton charged leaving many protesters injured.

In the meantime the authorities suspended prepare service within the Kashmir valley within the second leg of three-phased election within the Islamabad Parliamentary Constituency. “Practice service was suspended immediately as a precautionary measure following apprehension of violence when polling was being held in Kulgam district,” an official stated.

It’s price mentioning right here that the Joint Resistance Management (JRL) has referred to as for a ballot boycott and strike in Kulgam district.
