LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar on Wednesday visited the top regulator of Higher Jhelum Canal in Bhong space of Mirpur, Azad Kashmir and inaugurated the discharge of water by opening the gateway after the completion of restoration work of the canal, ARY Information reported.
In accordance with an announcement issued from his workplace, CM Buzdar inspected the discharge of water and visited the canal which was affected by the latest earthquake.
On the event, the chief minister stated that provision of water to eight districts from Higher Jhelum Canal has been began for irrigation functions which might irrigate 18 lakh acres of land.
He distributed money prizes and certificates among the many officers of the irrigation division for working day and night time for the restoration of Higher Jhelum Canal, learn the assertion.

Speaking to journalists, the chief minister stated that he was the primary one to go to Azad Kashmir after the earthquake and had inspected the canal which was affected by the earthquake.
“I directed the Irrigation Division to work on an emergent foundation for fast rehabilitation of Higher Jhelum Canal,” he added.
The chief minister expressed the satisfaction that Irrigation Division groups have restored the discharge of water within the canal with their untiring efforts spanning over two weeks.
He stated that the dedication and keenness proven by the Irrigation Division was praiseworthy.
