Committee led by Pervez Khattak reviews use of public properties

ISLAMABAD: A gathering of the committee constituted by Prime Minister Imran Khan to find out the usage of public properties was held beneath the chairmanship of Defence Minister Pervez Khattak in Islamabad on Tuesday.

The assembly was attended by Minister for Railways Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed, the secretary housing and works and officers of the Federal Board of Income (FBR), the Water and Energy Improvement Authority (WAPDA) and different departments.

The defence minister mentioned unutilized land could be developed with public non-public partnership and requested provinces to establish lands and future plan for his or her utilization.

Khattak mentioned that the working group has recognized 229 properties of various federal governments with 47,230 kanal space which shall be utilized to generate income and in addition for development of homes for the prime minister’s 5 million housing venture.
