What happened in this week’s episode of The Clone Wars?
After a brief debate about who is to blame for those who returned to the cell – where they spent many episodes last week – Rafa said he felt like Trace was siding with Ahsoka over the family. Ahsoka interrupts to inform them that he has plans to escape (again). But that requires fraud. “We must trust each other,” he said.
Three women convinced the crime king Pyke Marg Krim that they would recover the amount of spice lost for him; Ahsoka will remain locked in the basement as collateral. “Pay your debt or see your friend die,” Cream warned.
Pykes knew this was all a hoax, but what they didn’t know was that Ahsoka was a former Jedi with strong abilities. In addition, Cream said, he had no choice; his life was also at stake, because Pykes was under the thumb of vengeful Maul, a former student of Sith Lord Darth Sidious.
While the Martez sisters left the planet in search of spices in another world controlled by Pyke, Bo-Katan Kryze and the other Mandalorians from last week’s episode again glanced at watching Ahsoka. “What are you doing?” said Bo-Katan.
Ahsoka, meanwhile, used the Force to exit his prison cell inside the Pykes castle in time to observe the transmission between Maul and Marg Krim, which convinced former Sith that the spices would be returned to them.
“You are only a small part that moves in the mechanism that I have designed,” Maul said. “However, when you waver, it endangers everything. Do you understand? “Maul specifically mentioned Crimson Dawn, a criminal organization that he later saw running from the shadows in direct action. Solo. Ahsoka traces the origin of the signal to Mandalore.
“What was Maul doing there?” he wondered.
While Rafa and Trace trick other Pyke operations out of their spice supply, Ahsoka rigs several thermal detonators to blow on Oba Diah. After Pyke Syndicate realized that he was out of his cell, Cream witnessed his abilities firsthand and saw him for what he was: a Jedi.
The Martez sisters hindered their plans when the large Trandoshan reptile arrived at the landing platform where they were parked, asking for their permission. Of course, a fight ensued. And it ended with a tall humanoid lizard that plunged to its death.
Back at Oba Diah, Marg Krim was delighted to see the Martez sisters know that Ahsoka was actually a Jedi (or first). The couple has long blamed the Jedi Order for the death of their parents. Trace was shocked and disappointed.
“You should have told me,” he said.
With their debt to Pykes finally paid, Ahsoka accompanied Trace and Rafa back to their home in Coruscant. Bo-Katan and other Mandalorians arrived shortly after, after following them. “You and I have a common enemy,” Bo-Katan said. He displays a picture of Maul, who now occupies his hometown. “I need your help.”
Ahsoka left his bicycle faster at Martez’s sister’s repair shop – implying that he wanted to return one day – and said goodbye to them. His job is not finished; the galaxy is still raging with war.
