Aaron Carter has announced his girlfriend Melanie Martin is pregnant with their first child.
Singer I Want Candy surprised her fans with the news on Tuesday night (April 21) by showing a positive pregnancy test during Instagram live.
“Obviously I have a baby on the road,” Aaron told his followers, adding: “I will definitely be a busy father.
“This is an official announcement, we are pregnant.”
The news was not too surprising for Aaron, who revealed he and Melanie were actually trying to get pregnant.
‘This is what we want. We both strive for that, “he later told People about the news.
Looking forward to becoming a father for the first time, Aaron added: “I only focus on the future and become a father. I want to be a good father.
“I’m focused, my music career has been going very well, and going around, having my clothing line, all the things I have for me that aren’t always just music.
“Family is most important to me.”
It seems that Aaron was already in care when he later shared a selfie topless and joked: “Dad bod.”
Melanie joined Aaron during a live broadcast and kissed the former pop star while sitting on her lap.
The couple has been dating since January when they published their romance on social media.
Since then, they have experienced ups and downs including Aaron made a tattoo of the name Melanie on the side of his face.
But last month, Melanie was reportedly arrested for alleged domestic abuse.
According to TMZ, police were summoned to Aaron’s house in Lancaster around 11 pm on March 29, after a fight between the couple turned physical.
The reason given for the summons was ‘domestic violence’, with sources alleging there was an ‘oral argument’, which soon turned physical. Aaron claimed his girlfriend had been scratching him for four months during the fight, with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department confirming that he “did have a scar on his body”.
Melanie was taken into police custody, with a publication stating she had been held on bail of $ 50,000 (£ 40,000).
