Chair of WWE Vince McMahon took to Twitter to wish a happy birthday to the legend and WWE star of Hollywood actor Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson:

The Rock, who was 48 years old on Saturday, responded to a birthday tweet from WWE India too:

Johnson underwent his first WWE match in the 1996 pay-per-view Survivor Series as Rocky Maivia and went on to become one of the most successful and popular superstars in WWE history.

The Rock was basically born into the wrestling business as the son of WWE Hall of Famer Rocky Johnson and grandson of WWE Hall of Famer “Supreme Chair” Peter Maivia. Even so, it took some time before fans embraced The Rock as a star.

After removing Rocky Maivia’s babyface persona and embracing the heels of The Rock, Johnson became one of the defining figures of the Era of Attitudes and the history of pro wrestling as a whole.

The Rock is an eight-time WWE champion and a 10-time overall world champion, and he also won the Inter Tag and Continental Team Championship, and 2000 Royal Rumble.

While The Rock has mainly focused on his lucrative acting career in recent years, he still has some involvement with WWE.

The Rock defeated John Cena at WrestleMania 28, defeated CM Punk for the WWE Championship before WrestleMania 29 and then dropped the title to Cena at WrestleMania 29. Recently, The Rock defeated Erick Rowan in an impromptu match at WrestleMania 32 four years ago, which was the the last match.

The Rock before recommended holding a WrestleMania match against his cousin Roman Reigns and WrestleMania 37 next year in Los Angeles could be the right place to make it happen.
