Celebrities remember Met Gala on the day of the 2020 event will be held if it was not canceled because of the coronavirus pandemic.
Usually taking place on the first Monday of May every year, Met Gala attracts the biggest names in the entertainment world for the ultimate fashion show.
Gala, which has a different theme every 12 months, is synonymous with luxury and luxury because the world’s biggest designers spend months preparing the clothes of registrants in intricate and luxurious clothing.
This year’s exhibition, titled About Time: Mode and Duration, was canceled in March, with New York, the city hosting the Metropolitan Museum of Art, at the center of the spread of the US coronavirus.
On the day they were supposed to walk up the famous Met ladder, celebrities shared their favorite memories of the show.
Kim Kardashian West, who has always been one of the prominent stars in the Met Gala, marked the occasion by posting photos of her favorite clothes online.
They include dresses from Vivienne Westwood and Versace, as well as attractive Thierry Mugler clothes from last year, which are designed to make the star look soaking wet.
Her sister and regular gala fellow Kylie Jenner also posted some of her favorite appearances on Instagram.
They included the 2016 Balmain silver gown and the Versace gown she wore the following year.
Oscar-winning actress Julia Roberts posted a picture from her bathroom, showing her wearing a party dress while holding a drink and standing by the window.
“It’s me … not going to Met Ball tonight,” he wrote, adding the hashtag #stayhome #yesyoustillhavetostayhome.
His niece, actress Emma Roberts, shared a photo of herself in a pink dress and said: “In a parallel universe we are at #met tonight.”
Hailey Bieber, model and wife of pop star Justin, posted a picture of the 2019 gala showing Alexander Wang’s dress.
He said: “Rethink all the extraordinary and pleasant memories that always brought by the first Monday in May … can’t wait until we can do it all over and over again.”
Singer Rita Ora shared a photo of her and her friends who were famous in the previous galas, including Miley Cyrus and Kate Moss, and said: “Glad you all can’t wait to see you all soon.”
Rita Wilson, singer, actress and wife of Tom Hanks, paid tribute to fashion designer Miuccia Prada when she looked back on her trip to New York.
Wilson, who recently recovered from coronavirus, said: “I like Miuccia PRADA as a woman, an artist, a philanthropist, a mother, a wife and nature lover.
“He came down to earth, a rebel, a soldier. All with kindness.”
Former Victoria Secret angel Lily Aldridge said the gala “is an event I look forward to every year” and posted some of her clothes from a previous performance.
Chloe actress Grace Moretz revealed she would wear clothes from French fashion designer Nicolas Ghesquiere for this year’s show, but said that it was “very important” to stay indoors to stop the spread of coronavirus.
He added: “I cannot wait until we are healthy and safe to be able to unite everyone for this extraordinary event in the near future.”
Instead of the usual Met Gala, editor in chief Vogue Anna Wintour hosted a special live stream to celebrate the history of the event.
A Moment With the Met featured the appearance of Florence Welch and a DJ set from Virgil Abloh.
