To mark the last day of the British Cheese Weekender, a celebration of British-made cheese, the Prince of Wales shares recipes for pampering Cheesy Baked Eggs to Clarence House’s Instagram account.
The recipe came with a message from the Prince of Wales – who has been a Protector of the Cheese Specialization Association for nearly 30 years – encouraging people to support British products.
“British cheesem makers need our support during this time of great uncertainty, and we can all help in the simplest way,” the statement said.
“By buying British cheese from local shops and cheese makers, and directly from online producers, you can make an important contribution to keeping this small business surviving during an ongoing crisis.”
The ingredients and instructions for one of his “favorite recipes” – Cheesy Baked Eggs – were distributed to the Clarence House account, which featured cherry tomatoes, double cream, hard cheese, and spinach.
The recipe adds that “if possible” organic ingredients should be used.
Charles has long been an advocate for eating and growing organic food – his Duchy Originals series, mostly organic, is sold in supermarkets with profits donated for charity purposes.
