Actress Lori Loughlin and her husband, Mossimo Giannulli, a fashion designer, agreed to plead guilty to conspiracy charges in connection with a scandal of student admissions, the Department of Justice announced on Thursday.
According to the terms of the agreement, which will be formalized in court in the future, Ms. Loughlin, 55, agreed to serve two months in prison, pay a $ 150,000 fine and undergo two years of release overseen with 100 hours of community service. Mr. Giannulli, 56, is expected to serve a five-month prison sentence, pay a $ 250,000 fine and serve two years of release overseen with 250 hours of community service.
The prosecutor accused Ms. Loughlin and Mr. Giannulli paid $ 500,000 to get their two daughters recruited to the University of Southern California women’s crew as a way to ensure their admission to school.
