Prince William and Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge have many responsibilities on their shoulders. Not only that Prince William set to be the king of the future – Following his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, and his father, Prince Charles – but he and his wife had the additional task of raising three small children to become a good global citizen.
In recent months, the royal family has been dealing with the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. While they may be under the same pressure as many others around the world, a source recently revealed that Prince William and Kate are trying to do their part to keep people spirited.
Prince William and Kate Middleton are usually very formal
For generations, the royal family has been known to be very formal. They avoid displays of affection in public, practice very strict and polite greetings, and wear clothes that are always appropriate for every occasion. The royal “rules” followed by the family help maintain uniformity in the ranks of the kingdom and bring public unity to the public.
Prince William and Kate are no exception. They have been together since the early 2000s. Even though they were photographed being comfortable in the early years of their relationship, since they announced their love affair, Kate and Prince William have followed the royal protocol very strictly.
Although they always seemed happy together, it was rare for royal observers to see Kate and Prince William holding hands, let alone hugging or kissing in public. This is not because they do not love each other – rather, they only follow the guidelines that are loved by Queen Elizabeth.
Kate Middleton and Prince William have ‘let their defenses down’
With the coronavirus outbreak hitting Britain very hard, it seems that the royal family is also thinking of ways to try to give people hope for the future. Recently, Katie Nicholl, a prominent royal expert, opened up how the nobles dealt with the COVID-19 plague, revealing that the nobles were trying to bring some excitement and light into people’s lives.
“We are a nation in the midst of a crisis and at times like this we turn to the royal family for support, comfort and hope,” he said, reporting Page Six. “And, I think Cambridges has really stepped up to the plate to provide fun entertainment for us, and of course, it is a real treat for royal fans to see so many Cambridge children.”
Nicholl revealed that the nobles “let them off guard” was a deliberate move by Prince William and Kate and that they did things they normally did not do – like Prince William even participated in comedy sketches on television.
“The royal family has tried hard not to look alone or far away or unreadable,” Nicholl said.
