SEC 2020 soccer schedule: Details of home and away matches between teams in the middle of the COVID-19 reshuffle | Instant News

The SEC on Thursday announced it would move the start date of its campus football season back to September 26 and that it canceled non-conference matches for all league members. Instead, the league will fill its schedule by expanding from the eight-game conference schedule to a 10 matches, conference schedule only in the middle of a COVID-19 pandemic.

The decision to cancel non-conference games canceled several high-profile games previously scheduled for this fall including Tennessee in Oklahoma, Arkansas at Notre Dame, and Texas at LSU. As the start date for the season is pushed backwards, so does the SEC Championship Game, which is now scheduled for Saturday, December 19th.

“The new plan for this soccer schedule is consistent with our university education goals to allow for a safe and orderly return to their student population campuses and to provide a healthy learning environment during the unique circumstances presented by the COVID-19 virus,” the SEC SEC Commissioner said, Greg Sankey. “This new schedule supports the security measures taken by each of our institutions to ensure the health of our campus community.”

The eight-game conference schedule for the team usually consists of six intradivisional games, one traditional cross-division game and one cross-division rotation game.

It is unclear now how the SEC will expand the schedule from eight to 10 matches as it was announced to be done, but below is a display of the entire SEC 2020 conference schedule as we know it.
