When the NFL schedule first came out, the Thanksgiving night game between the Buffalo Bills and the New Orleans Saints looked like a gem. Buffalo was one of the early Super Bowl favorites and New Orleans, with Sean Payton on the sidelines and the ball in the hands of Alvin Kamara, trying to hold on to a slice of the NFL’s upper echelon.
It didn’t quite work out that way, as the Bills came on 6-4, losing three of their last five games after giving up 264 yards in a 41-15 home loss to the Colts. The Saints (5-5) are on a three-game losing streak and could once again be without Kamara and RT Ryan Ramczyk.
The difference at quarterback was stark, with Josh Allen against Trevor Siemien. We should also see the bill play out with more urgency now that the Patriots have taken over first place in AFC East.
Options: Bills, -5.5.
DETROIT LIONS (+3.5) over Chicago Bears
I’d rather use this space to rip off the NFL for making us watch the Lions-Bears on Thanksgiving, but you’re here to choose. Even though the Lions were 0-9-1, they were 6-4 against the spread. D’Andre Swift has run 130 and 136 yards in the last two weeks against the Steelers and Browns, and is now taking aim at the Bears defense which is missing some of its top players.
Las Vegas Raiders (-7.5) over DALLAS COWBOYS
While Dallas is hoping to get CeeDee Lamb back from concussion protocol, Amari Cooper is still out due to COVID. The Raiders have lost three in a row and scored 16, 14 and 13 points in those games, but this is their biggest underdog spot this season. They won outright +5 in Denver and +5.5 in Pittsburgh.
Last week: 9-6 overall, 2-1 Best Bet.
