An overview: West Liberty have won consecutive playoff games on the road. Williamsburg is working on three consecutive strokes. Levi Weldon has thrown nearly 1,100 yards and 15 TDs to lead the Raiders offense. John Steinmetz was his main target with 22 wins for 500 yards and six scores. Sophomore Owen Douglas had 11.5 tackles to lose to lead the Williamsburg defense which had produced 16 takeaways. West Liberty junior Jahsiah Galvan had 1,383 yards rushing and has surpassed 100 yards in six of the seven games, including 343 and 161 yards, respectively, in the two playoffs. The winner will face No. 6 Camanche or Tipton in the quarter-finals.

An overview: No. 8 Easton Valley went to Gladbrook for last year’s playoff opener and outclassed the home side 34-0 in the first half. If River Hawks can win there again, they will reach the quarter-finals against the No. 5 Montezuma (8-0) and BGM, Brooklyn (8-1). The No.7 GR was very heavy, led by 2,153 yards rushing and Keagan Giesking’s 32 senior goalscoring. Easton Valley was matched by QB Conor Gruver (1,857 passing yards, 32 TDs) and Kolton Murphy back (1,143 rushing, 20 TDs). River Hawks have played one of the schedule 8 toughest players in the state. This will be their seventh match against a team with a winning record but only the third for GR.
