How do Kevin Durant’s first 10 games compare to the Warriors | Instant News

Kevin Durant has used his first 10 games with the Brooklyn Nets to remind everyone how great he is at basketball. Very good is the final answer.

Durant started scoring historic goals with his new team. His 307 points through 10 games is the second after 371 Wilt Chamberlain by a player in his first 10 games with a new team.

Chamberlain, only 23 years old at the time, scored an absurd 37.6 points per game for the Philadelphia 76ers in the 1959-60 season. Durant, 32, has averaged 30.7 points per game this season, which is the second highest of his career.

That brings us to this – how many points did Durant score in his first 10 games with the Warriors? The answer, 277.

It’s easy to see why Durant’s point total will be higher with the Nets so far. He has played with fellow superstar Kyrie Irving in six games this season, and with James Harden in just one. Durant shared the floor with Steph Curry and Klay Thompson in all of his first 10 games with Golden State.

Durant averaged 27.7 points through 10 games as a Warrior in the 2016-17 season. Curry averaged 27.2 points over that range, and Thompson 18.8.

The Nets are 6-4 when Durant has played this season. The Warriors 8-2 in their first 10 games with the team.

Durant ended up scoring 25.1 points per game in his first season with the Warriors. There’s a good chance he is making more than that this season, even as he shares the pitch with Irving and Harden. The bigger challenge for Durant is to keep a team of superstars working together, as Curry did.
