High school football game this week in Southland | Instant News

A glimpse of this week’s high school football match when the LAUSD team started playing in the City Section:

Friday’s match

Palisades (0-0) in Venice (0-0), 7 p.m.

The City section finally started with this West League rivalry. Venice introduces the Tennessee transfer of Sam Vaulton at the quarterback. What’s more concerning is that some of the linemen are opting out, so we’ll see what kind of protection it receives. The Palisades lost their initial midfielder to Birmingham, so the Dolphins need to rebuild. The options: Venice.

Reseda (0-0) in Crenshaw (0-0), 7pm

Two veteran coaches with a small list of names will try to help their players take advantage of the shortened season. Crenshaw coach Robert Garrett is mostly a junior and prepares players for the fall ball. Reseda coach Alonso Arreola will rely on several key seniors. Options: Reseda.
