If you enjoy online games and Cards Against Humanity, both are combined with the free website, Creator Dawson Whitfield created an online version so you can play without a board.

LAS CRUCES – Just because you have to stay at home doesn’t mean you have to stop having fun with your friends. You may not be able to physically be with them, but virtual board and card games are now an option.

Here are some of the best online games to play with friends who are guaranteed to bring you and your clan together during this social distancing period:

1. Remote Insensitivity aka Cards Against Humanity

Cards Against Humanity offers it as a party game for terrible people. In this funny (and of course adult-only!) Game, players fill out filling statements using words or phrases that are usually considered offensive, obscene or politically wrong. My friends and I play the free online version and have fun even though we are hundreds of miles apart from each other. Skype with your friends to see each other’s reactions. Up to six players can use to play Remote Insensitivity.

Where to play: Visit Open the page, scroll down to “Remote Insensitivity,” then press “Start.” This will give you a link, which you must send to everyone who will be playing.

2. Fortnite

Fortnite is an online video game that exploded to the scene three years ago and became a hit with school-age children. This family-friendly first person shooter game continues to attract millions of active users daily, adults and children. My friend told me that he learned to play games from his 8-year-old son and said it was a fun way to relax after a day of school at home. Fortnite is free on Xbox One, PC, Switch, PS4 and cellular and is a great way to bond with your children.

3. Words with Friends 2

I admit I was addicted to this game when I downloaded the application for my smartphone a few years ago. In this game, you can challenge others from all over the world but of course it’s much more fun to play with your family and friends. This is basically Scrabble, and whoever gets the most points wins. This is a good exercise for your brain and tends to be a little competitive if you like word games and puzzles. Download the application here for your smartphone:

4. Minecraft

If you are a fan of building things or creating a new world, this is the game for you. Think of it as a virtual Lego. Learn how to become an engineer thanks to this game. Up to eight friends can join online games and build whatever they can imagine in creative mode, or maybe they join to see how long they can last in survival mode. All ages can play Minecraft on Xbox One, PC, Switch, PS4 and cellular for $ 20, and are available for free at Xbox Game Pass.

5. Skribbl

Take turns drawing while others guess what is meant by your friend’s terrible artwork in the side chat. As a browser game, you don’t need to close the video call and it’s also fast to set it up – just create a private space and send the invitation link to your friends. Private rooms can accommodate up to 12 players. Who knows, maybe you will find you or one of your friends has an artistic hidden talent. Play the game here:
