This year’s Richmond Fashion Week spring event has been canceled due to concerns over COVID-19, the organizer of the event announced in a press release on Monday.

“Due to the uncertainty of all the results related to Covid-19 (Coronavirus) that have affected the local community and us, we are reluctant to announce that we will CANCELED our annual 12th RVAFW Spring event,” the statement said.

This announcement is an update to the March 15 release of the RVAFW committee which states that the fashion week and the scheduled event will be postponed from the original date, April 27 – May 3, until May 26-31.

In pers conference, The committee would like to thank the event staff, volunteers and sponsors for their support, as well as the models and designers who have auditioned for this year’s fashion week.

The release said the scheduled event of the canceled spring event was planned to be combined with this year’s fall fashion week.

Autumn 2020 Fashion Week is scheduled for October 5 to October 11. Unlike spring events, which are week-long events, autumn events have been scheduled for weekends in the last years.

Announcements and updates will be posted on the Internet RVAFW website and on the event’s Facebook, Twitter and Instagram pages.
