Martha Saulsbury from the Central Coast turned 100 on Monday.

Martha was born on January 18, 1921, on the San Marcos route between Santa Barbara and Santa Ynez, according to family member Helen Saulsbury.

Over the weekend, Martha and her family mark their centenary in true pandemic fashion with a zoom party.

Family members sing happy birthday via virtual call and Martha blows out the birthday cake candle saying “100”.

Martha is married to George and they have three children. In total, Martha now has 11 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Martha attributes her long life to being calm, content, and happy, no matter the situation.

According to Helen, Martha was well-known in the area for her church art, paintings and murals.
