Big brands and small businesses take the opportunity to enter the world of new fashions … make masks.
Facial masks, a must-have fashion item, have changed from medical equipment to small accessories to large businesses.
Prada, Louis Vuitton and Dior sew it exclusively for medical workers. That gives hundreds of younger mid-market brands like Madewell and Rent the Runway a chance to pounce.
For big players, this isn’t all about the bottom line. Listen to the first media tell us:

However, small and medium businesses are taking advantage of this opportunity. Trevor George estimates that mask sales will rival apparel sales over the next 18 months. His company, Trevco, is said to be the largest online licensed clothing manufacturer.
He sells millions of shirts embroidered with comic book heroes like Superman every year. He now sells twice as many masks as a shirt.
Gina Quatrine in Los Angeles is reusing Hermes scarves and selling them on Etsy.com, and her business is booming. Quatrine said, “Seven weeks I’ve done it, and I’m almost at $ 30,000. Face masks are something I really think will be a fashion trend, by the way.”
That’s good news, especially for luxury goods makers, whose income is expected to decrease by 39% by 2020.
Masks that start at $ 50 to $ 500 won’t make it up, but it will help.
