Bold and the Beautiful is one of the most popular soap operas of all time, as well as one of the longest running shows on television.
Starting in 1987, soap operas have run for 33 consecutive seasons. Recently, the show was recently forced to stop producing new episodes due to COVID-19 preventive measures.
Showrunners have decided to replay classic episodes Bold and the Beautiful when on hiatus, mostly for old fans’ pleasure. This setback episode has been sorted into the theme of the special week to celebrate the biggest moment of the show. One special theme week involves the most iconic fashion moments in the event, which makes some fans split.
What is ‘Bold and the Beautiful’ about?
This soap mainly follows the life of the glamorous Forrester family based in Los Angeles. Forresters is consistently in the midst of the metaphors of classic soap operas, including a triangle of devastating love, dramatic relationships, and surprising disclosures.
There are also a number of love triangles in the show, which mainly involve two women who fight for the love of one man, usually a Forrester man. Rich and powerful families are at the top of the fashion industry, while the other main families are in the same privileged position. These superior families included the Logan and Spencer clans who interacted, disputed with, and married various Forresters throughout the year.
Much of this interaction involves scenes set in the glamorous fashion industry, which have led to the theme of special fashion week.
‘The Bold and the Beautiful’ fashion week
Since many members of the Forrester family sit at the top of the fashion industry, it makes sense that the show will feature a fashion week. Specially selected episodes feature the best and most beautiful fashion moments of the show’s long history.
Many iconic moments in the event took place at a fashion show, or during a photo shoot and other events. This event also featured epic wedding week, special specials behind the scenes, and a trip to Monte Carlo. The main setting of the show is Los Angeles, but a storyline follows the Logan and Forrester family to beautiful Aspen, Colorado.
The snowy setting is perfect for displaying beautiful winter clothes that are not ideal for sunny Los Angeles. Most episodes during fashion week are celebrated by fans, but one particular episode is not appreciated.
Fan reaction to the episode of fashion week
Most of all Bold and the Beautiful theme episodes, including many fashion week setbacks, are celebrated by fans who can relive the victories and heartbreak of their favorite characters.
This nostalgic love does not feel one for one particular episode, which involves a drama between Hope Logan (Kim Matula/ Annika Noelle), Bill Spencer Jr. (Dom Diamont), Liam Spencer (Scott Clifton), and Steffy Forrester (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood).
In the episode, Hope acted very anxious, and was accused of being a “homewrecker” by the hungry fashion press on the show. Hope was worried because he was being harassed by the press and Bill.
Bill does not want his son to choose Hope, because he believes he is not strong enough to support Liam. The episode ends with Hope collapsing as the press outside her window continues to harass her.
The love triangle between Hope, Steffy and Liam has become a long-term story arc from the recent show. Fans have also become bored with Steffy and Liam about them or won’t act, saying that Steffy should move to a new, healthier relationship.
Many fans are talking against the tendency of events to pit women against one another for the love of a man. It will be interesting to see if the show will adapt and change after the cessation of COVID-19 production.
