PHOENIX – Following the third consecutive night of protests in the Valley, Scottsdale Fashion Square was closed today, according to authorities.

At around 9:20 am, the Scottsdale Police Department announced that Camelback Road was also closed from Goldwater Boulevard to Scottsdale Road due to overnight criminal activity.

Some shops in Fashion Square Mall were damaged by looters on Saturday night around 10 pm. including Neiman Marcus, Urban Outfitters and Apple Store.

About an hour later, the Scottsdale police declared the meeting in the area an unlawful meeting, thus subjecting anyone still present to be arrested.

The unlawful assembly was also announced late Saturday by the Phoenix police around 10:30 pm following the report of a loud explosion.

The protest came in response to Monday’s death Minnesotan George Floyd and Arizonan Dion Johnson at the hands of law enforcement.
