Firdous accuses opposition of conspiring against govt in ‘the name of Iftar’

ISLAMABAD: Reacting to PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s scheduled Iftar dinner this Sunday, Particular Assistant to the Prime Minister Firdous Ashiq Awan on Saturday accused opposition politicians of conspiring towards the incumbent authorities in “the title of Iftar”.

In a sequence of tweets, she lamented the politicians who induced issues for the individuals are busy defending private, political and enterprise pursuits below the garb of Iftar dinners.

Ms Awan stated, “They [members of opposition parties] are solely frightened about their wealth and the way forward for their progeny.”

“Hatching a conspiracy towards the elected authorities within the title of Iftar within the holy month of Ramazan is unlucky,” she added.

PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari earlier on Friday made a phone contact with the PML-N Vice President Maryam Nawaz Sharif and invited her to his Iftar dinner to be held this Sunday.

Moreover, he talked to JUI-F chief Fazlur Rehman, ANP President Asfandyar Wali Khan, PKMAP chief Mehmood Khan Achakzai, BNP (Mengal) chief Sardar Akhtar Mengal.
