Five foreign tourists killed in plane crash in Honduras

TEGUCIGALPA: 5 foreigners together with the pilot died on Saturday when their non-public aircraft crashed into the ocean shortly after taking off from Roatán island, a vacationer vacation spot on the Atlantic coast of Honduras, native authorities mentioned.

Officers gave conflicting accounts of the victims’ nationalities. Armed forces spokesman Jose Domingo Meza mentioned 4 of the victims had been from the US and the fifth sufferer’s nationality had but to be decided.

Native emergency providers initially mentioned the victims included 4 Canadians and one other sufferer of unknown nationality.

Native authorities didn’t instantly provide a trigger for the accident.

The Piper PA-32-260 aircraft was headed to the vacationer port metropolis of Trujillo, about 80 kilometers (49.71 miles) from Roatan, a picturesque island frequented by vacationers from the US, Canada and Europe, authorities mentioned.
