BOSTON (WHDH) – Candidate for mayor of Boston Michelle Wu announced her policy plans to better address food justice issues in the city.
“In this pandemic, we have seen that COVID-19 has exposed the injustices that exist in many areas, especially our food system,” he said. “Some of the most visible effects of the first pandemic were related to a food system that was damaged in some way.”
City councilors are currently calling for systemic changes to create a fair and sustainable food system.
In his report, he outlines ways to create the system, which includes supporting restaurants and food workers and expanding access to healthy food.
