The stress of the upcoming holidays and extra family time may make you feel like you need a drink, so it’s probably no coincidence that most of the events on our December list include alcohol. Don’t worry, there are also some great meals planned, such as a chocolate class, a grain-to-farm-to-table dinner, and a three-course dinner with wine pairing under the stars. Everything adds to the fun in the last month of 2021. Have fun!

Wrigley’s House

Wrigley’s House is home to more than 12,000 bottles of wine, so it’s fitting that guests can enjoy a monthly wine dinner curated by wine director Paola Embry. December dinner will be hosted by Hartford Family Winery and includes a five course meal paired with selected wines. Master sommelier Michael Jordan will be the guest speaker for the evening, starting at 6pm Ticket is available for $125 per person.

Holiday Winemaker Dinner Under the Stars

Wine and food enthusiasts are invited to eat a three course meal under the stars served by LDV . Winery and vineyard. It will take place at the Scottsdale Waterfront Plaza on Stetson Drive adjacent to the LDV Winery Tasting Room from 6 to 9 p.m. The tentative menu includes a winter salad with local produce and cheese with noble bread and LDW Winery olive oil and balsamic; wine braised short ribs with ricotta gnocchi; and a chocolate flourless torte with ganache and raspberry coulis, plus wine pairing. This event is $155 per person.

Learn how to make homemade chocolate for you and your family in a class brought to you by aromatics specialist Vicki Greener at Desert Sage Herbs. The class fee is $50 and includes supplies, lots of samples, and flyers. All recipes are dairy, gluten and egg free.

Tarbell’s Hospitality, led by chef Mark Tarbell, hosts holiday parties and wine sales at Tarbel parking lot from 1 to 4 pm There will be courtyard games, premium wine tasting, contests, live music from the Tarbell Cha Cha Mouche band, and more. The Wine Store will open and sell a selection of wines including those used for tasting. General entrance fee is $49 and includes wine tasting with 10 pours and food pairing. A portion of the wine proceeds will be donated to the Joy Bus Diner.

This event is a collaboration between SanTan Brewery Company and Moon River Beef at San Tan Gardens. Taste beef cutlets fed from used SanTan beer grains, paired each with a SanTan beer or cocktail. The menu is ground beef paired with Devil’s Ale; Coffee brisket with old-fashioned espresso; adobo short ribs paired with Sex Panther; and a New York strip steak paired with a Sacred Stave RyeBall. Tickets are $55 per person.

Get off to a great start in 2022 with Zuzu at Hotel Valley Ho’s annual champagne dinner. Meals include starters such as Wagyu beef empanadas and steak tartar with caviar followed by Nantucket Bay scallops; New York Argentinian steak strip “Oscar”; and strawberry cheesecake, all paired with Veuve Clicquot champagne. Dinner is $149 per person plus gratuity and taxes.
