The United Way of Nevada County (UWNC), and the Interfaith Food Ministry (IFM) will distribute their holiday meals on Saturdays in addition to additional groceries. This community-based food program supports working individuals and those experiencing food insecurity who cannot access other food distributions which are held for a week. Anyone who can benefit from food additives is encouraged to participate.
“This year, with the effects of COVID-19, individuals and families are faced with difficult decisions and cutting back on food and essential items. Offering holiday meals to those affected feels more important than ever. We welcome anyone who benefits and look forward to this event and wish them a Happy Holidays, ”said Megan Timpany, Executive Director.
As community needs increase, UWNC continues to develop this program to ensure that every Nevada County resident has access to healthy and nutritious food. Food Access Saturdays run from 10am to noon every second Saturday at the Interfaith Food Ministry, 440 Henderson Street in Grass Valley.
