LEXINGTON, Va. – Brew Ridge Taps is making its biggest to-go order as part of 10 Food for Frontline initiatives.
Everyone who works on the front lines at Carilion Stonewall Jackson on Friday receives a free lunch from a local restaurant.
“This is the feeling of appreciation we received,” said Aaron Glenn, director of hospital nursing.
For five weeks, 10 News has taken donations from viewers to feed frontline workers. Food orders are placed at local restaurants that have struggled so far.
“Being a part of this is really great. This is a much needed sale, we need income, “said Autumn McFaddin, owner of Brew Ridge Taps.” So it’s also amazing to be able to help our local frontline workers who work twice, overtime. “
McFaddin said his business was looking for ways to help, but could not because of lost sales.
He praised the community’s support and orders to carry it through economic challenges.
This restaurant serves the 150 largest sandwiches for health workers.
“Thank you, this is what made a lot of our staff grow rapidly,” Glenn said.
Food for Frontline has donated more than 1,600 meals.
